When we were forming our Capstone Team, we took many different candidates into account when choosing members. The initial members of the team passed credible names around, and from there, the team was formed. Unfortunately, as is the same problem with many Capstone teams, we do not have a sole producer. To solve this, three of our team members decided to share the Producer role. They help us create and coordinate meetings, remind us of team-wide tasks, and help us define our work timeline when discussing new sprints. Thus far, differences in opinion are accepted in meetings as we try to let everyone speak an equal amount. If team members have differences of opinion about certain game mechanics or ideas, those are decided with a majority vote. I believe that this is the correct way to make each team member feel heard, while still having the fairness and efficiency to keep the project moving! Tons of designers had awesome ideas, such as a cryptid photography game and an ocean fishing card game, but in the end, we decided to go for Slime-Boy: Stretched Thin, a wacky 3rd person physics game where you play as the Pliable Protector himself, as he saves Fauxville from all sorts of baddies. Make sure to check this blog every once in a while to see our progress!
